Remote Support

            The remote support service I offer allows me to interact with your computer as if I were sitting in front of it. When you choose to use remote support, you are granting me access to your computer's keyboard, mouse, and monitor (read below for more information). This is done using a program called GoTo Assist.

 

For remote support:

  1. Contact me at 832-380-5741 or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to setup an appointment.
  2. I will instruct you to go to www.fastsupport.com
  3. Please enter your name and the 9-digit support number I provide you, into the appropriate fields.
  4. You should see a series of screens with progress bars. Be sure to click "Run" or "Allow" when prompted.
    • If you do not see any progress bars or you get an error saying "Unable to download automatically", please follow the link on the page to manually download and install the software.
  5. You will then be prompted to share your screen, please click "Yes" as this is required to allow me to support your computer.
  6. Once the session is complete (or any time during) you or I may both stop and close the session. To do this, simply click on the X in the top right-hand corner of the window titled "GoTo Assist Express".
    • Once a session has been closed, it can not be reopened. A new session must be created and you must redownload the program as it automatically uninstalls its self once the session is closed.

 

About GoTo Assist

            By using a remote support session and installing GoTo Assist, you are not allowing me or anyone else the chance to take control or in any way access your computer at will, without your direct input.

 

            GoTo Assist was design with the customer (you) in mind. If at any time you touch your keyboard or move your mouse, control by the remote operater is suspended and returned to you. There is no way that I, or anyone else, can lock you out of your own computer during one of these sessions. You are also able to close and disconnect the session at any time you wish. All you must do is move the mouse to regain control and then close the session window to the bottom-right of your screen.
